Breed: Shetland Sheepdog
Description:
What do we all want? We want to age well and few shelties age as well as Wyatt did. His age was thought to be between 10 and 14 years young and young was an apt description of this guy. He was a busy guy who loved to play ball with people and to explore and sniff all of the good smells of the outdoors.
People were more important to him than other dogs and he ignored small animals like cats. When he was with other dogs, he played with toys or brought toys to his foster family. He loved to meet new people and everyone seemed to be his friend. He needed to have a family who was home a lot as he was not too fond of those favorite people leaving him at home and was somewhat vocal when he was left at home alone. On the other hand, he absolutely loved riding in the car. He may have had some hearing loss but came consistently to a finger wag and sat when you pointed down.
He walked pretty well on a leash but wanted to be off-leash to “do his business.” He had a tendency to mark, but at any certain age, we all need a little understanding of our idiosyncrasies. Almost Home found him a permanent foster family who adored him just as he was! Wyatt was in the senior to senior program and your sponsorship helped defray the expenses to take care of this special guy. Thank you!
Want to help, but now is not the right time for you to adopt? We understand! Consider sponsoring one of our dogs through our Sponsorship Program instead. Learn more about this program, how to donate and other ways to donate.
